![]() Halfling Pony Riders generally act as scouts, and as a supplement to their foot soldiers. As such, steeds are rare among the Halflings. Halflings hardly have a cavalry, finding full-grown horses difficult to mount, let alone ride. Made of sturdy wood construction, a ram can withstand a fair amount of damage. It is also often a necessary one for conquest and expansion. The battering ram is a standard piece of equipment for almost every civilized race. They are short and quite quick, relying upon their quickness to parry attacks, and then strike where it hurts the most. These foot soldiers are lightly armored and relatively cheap to train. The common Halfling warrior is proficient in the use of a short sword in melee combat. Like other Halflings, slingers are highly resistant to magic. Although these sling stones do very little damage, a skilled Halfling can typically launch twice the number of stones as an archer can fire arrows in the same amount of time. Halflings seem to be naturally gifted with the ability to hurl rocks accurately with a sling. Slingers are the Halfling basic ranged-attacker. Halflings are very resourceful in times of war, employing allies such as Satyrs, Centaurs, Great Eagles, and Rogues to fight alongside them. ![]() Nevertheless, Halflings make fine warriors, as they are able to use their nimbleness and size to evade their opponents, taking the offensive when they see an opening in the enemy's defenses. They cope by telling tales and retreating to thoughts of more pleasant things, when not engaged in combat. ![]() They work hard at their businesses, but work is rarely their primary focus.Įven though war can be brutal, Halflings tend not to take it seriously. Even in old age, Halflings manage to remain cheerful and productive. They farm and trade with close neighbors like the Elves and Dwarves. Villages can be made up of as few as two or three families. ![]() Halfling society is one of harmony and peace. ![]()
